Do you want to be the hottest rider out there? Some wakeboarders would rather just ride the smaller waves and not take big risks; others crave a little challenge.

Most serious wakeboarders though have the vision of being able to take the challenging route. And what does it take to do all those cool wakeboard tricks? Time, patience, and practice. Better get a move on if you haven’t started yet!

There are so many great tricks out there just waiting for you. There are spins, slides, inverts, blinds, and loops, just to name a few. For starters, you may want to only do surface tricks as you are still getting used to controlling your board, balance, and navigation.

Some of the most well-known surface tricks are backside butterslide, backside butterslide 180, potato peelers, perez, powerslide, surf carve, surface 180, surface 360, and tumble turn. As you begin your wakeboarding journey, be patient with yourself because you are destined to make many mistakes.

If you feel like you are ready to get a little bit of air, you might want to try some board grabs and simple rotational wakeboard tricks. You should try out these popular wakeboard tricks if you feel comfortable with your control and balance: progressive toeside edge, progressive heelside edge, switching, 180s, toeside frontside grab 180, butterslides, heelside frontside, ollie backside, and method grab.

Now once you get down some of the more basic grabs and rotational tricks, you can get fancy and try something a bit more challenging. Here’s some wakeboard tricks that intermediate riders should think about practicing: Toeside frontside 540, indy backside 180 (blind), heelside 540, tantrum, heelside off-axis 360, roll to revert, and backroll.

As for advanced riders, well, as you might expect, they can do almost anything they set their minds to. They can tackle some really notorious wakeboard tricks that include difficult moves, which could include complicated spins and inverts. These tricks are often joined up with cool grabs.

If you qualify as an advanced rider, you ought to try these on for size: Wrapped KGB, crow mobe, front flip, tantrum to blind, whirlybird, elephant, and heelside mobe.

You don’t have to stick to what others have come up with. When you feel comfortable enough with some of these other tricks, you should definitely progress to your next personal level.

Wakeboarding is one of the most popular growing sports around the globe. If you are interested in getting involved in this great water sport, there are some basics that you should know. You’ll be off to an excellent start if you follow these wakeboarding tips.

Just like any other sport, it is also important to think about your equipment for wakeboarding. If you’re just starting out, it’s best to use a beginner’s board.

Even though you may want the trendiest board designed for more advanced riders, it is better to start out with something that will help you gain control. You have to learn control before you can pull off the tricks. The best kind of board at this stage will be longer and have squared-off edges.

Now we still need to add something more to your equipment: A proper life jacket is absolutely vital. Be aware of water temperature as well. Safe guard yourself from extreme temperatures to prevent hypothermia and sun burn.

There are several more wakeboarding tips you should consider when you’re just starting out and getting up in the water for the first time. First thing’s first: Decide which foot feels more comfortable forward.

You want to get a good stance on your board, since this helps not only with you balance but in navigation as well. If you have previously snow or skateboarded, go with the foot forward that you did with those sports.

You may feel the temptation to try and pull yourself up and out of the water. Let the pull of the boat do the most work. Be sure to tell the boat driver that you’re new to wakeboarding, so they know to start off a little slow and give you a chance to get up.

Try putting half your weight on your front foot once the boat has pulled you up. And then when you are out of the water, about 60% of your body weight should be on your front foot. All this helps you control the board better.

You should also start out with a shorter rope, another good wakeboarding tip for beginners. It is recommended to begin with a rope about 45 feet long. One way of quickly fitting into the wakeboarding world is to learn the lingo that goes along with the sport.

It’s easy to find a bunch of wakeboarding terms through an Internet search. Apart from wakeboarding terminology, you may also want to look into finding videos for great prices. Instructional and feature films can be really motivating, and you’ll also learn a lot from them.

Hopefully, these wakeboarding tips get off to a great start! Have fun out there!

Wakeboarding is a popular water sport, and it is only getting more popular each passing day. With the amount of strength and skill needed to accomplish complicated tricks, these guys and girls are definitely admirable! The crowd is blown away when they see someone perform a complicated trick so well and without a hitch that they make it look easy. Want to know some of these impressive wakeboarding tricks? Here’s a list!

Tantrum to Blind - A totally wicked-cool trick. Never seen it done before? Well, you really should! The rider initiates this when while racing forward, moves diagonally to smack into a small wave. When he or she hits the wave, they flip up in the air, do a twisting flip, and then land! It is truly amazing.

A Front Flip - One of the prettiest of wakeboarding tricks is this one, where the rider goes flying up into the air after hitting a wave. While they are in the air, they perform a flip that sort of looks like a cartwheel, before coming back down to a hard landing.

This is definitely one of the coolest tricks in existence.

The Elephant - This is another invert style trick. After flipping up into the air, the rider performs another fancy flip to the side and then comes back down to land hard on the water. This one looks amazing if it is pulled off correctly.

There are lots of other really amazing wakeboarding tricks, but the thing to keep in mind is that they are very hard to do. They are also some of the most amazing and prettiest tricks that exist. Wakeboarding is a tough sport that requires a ton of skill, so these guys get huge props for their amazing tricks!

You may have just begun wakeboarding, or you are thinking of picking it up. In this case you will need to talk to others who are skilled, and of course you don’t want to sound like a dummy! Here are some of the most basic wakeboarding tricks terms to get you started learning.

Air - One of the most important terms in wakeboarding. When you do a trick that sends you flying, we refer to how much ‘air’ you had between you and the water. When someone says you got ‘big air’ it means that you really went high, which is considered good!

Bail - This term describes falling on your wakeboard.

Bindings - This is the rubber boots which are attached to the board that keeps you on the board.

Bone Out - Whenever you perform a trick that involves straightening out your leg, this is what it’s called. By doing a ‘bone out grab’, that means you grab and straighten your leg at the same time.

Digger - This is something you want to avoid, as it means a ‘bad wreck.’

Invert - When a rider flips upside down in the air, that’s an invert.

Nose - The tip of the board that’s closest to the wakeboarding boat is the nose.

Set - A set is basically your ‘turn’ on the wakeboard. Each time a rider takes a turn, he has taken a set.

These are just the very basic terms that you need to know in order to get started learning. Now when you try to talk to somebody who’s already a pro at wakeboarding, you at least should have less communication problems! You may be a complete novice when it comes to wakeboarding, but you don’t have to sound like one!

Use these wakeboarding tricks lingo and terms to help you begin learning one of the neatest sports there is. Have fun, but don’t break a leg!
